Hi all i have this reel Abu Garcia T-Alloy 2500, i think it has handled it ok for how rough i am. what do others think of it as it was only about $110

i matched it with a hawk spectra 6.6 only about 70 bucks first lure rod i have ever had, always used bait up until last year,
hope to get in to some nice bream on the manning river.

I can't comment on the rod Shane as I know nothing about it but the reel is a different matter. Although I don't have the 2500 model I do have the 1500 version matched to a 7' 2-5kg Berkley Pro Tactic rod.

It's a top little out fit and the reel impressed me for a unit at the lower end of the price scale. The line lay is brilliant and the drag is as smooooth as a baby's botty.

This fish was caught on this outfit, I know it's not a huge fish but it did it with ease on 4lb line with 6 lb leader.
